Future campus – 3 x better

It’s been a hectic 9 months, but as Future Campus moves well past the 10,000 subscriber mark, it is clearly time for some change.

We have been stunned by the strength of the positive feedback about Future Campus but also are regularly told that the newsletter is, well … a lot. People would prefer less clicking, and a better distribution of content over the week.

From next week, we will be bringing you the same quality and range of content, but spread over three days. This approach is important for three reasons:

  1. Content wont be lost to readers and will be delivered in the format that readers are asking for.
    1. Three shorter newsletters each week provides more space for insights and perspectives from contributors
    1. We need to be sustainable – we can provide advertising space that is cheaper and more effective than many competitors, so that our staff can continue to eat.

We aim to occupy a niche that no other media holds – news for the sector, about the sector. We are not trying to produce ‘Gotcha’ stories, or trot out stories drip fed from either side of politics. We want to encourage discussions that staff care about and present analysis and perspectives from the sector, for the sector. We have heard time and again that this is the niche that staff want us to occupy and is valued.

Other key questions about Future Campus – answered.

We have also hear from lots of people who want to know if we advertise and whether we accept written contributions. The answer is yes, we will only be sustainable if the sector advertises with us and yes, we love written contributions, but reserve the right to edit and wont guarantee publication. Having said that, our goal is to provide the information you won’t find elsewhere – written by the sector, for the sector, so the more contributions the merrier.

With this feedback in mind, next week we are moving to three editions per week, bringing you content that will be easier to navigate and will help to start your morning informed about the latest news from the sector.
