The Australian Research Council announces members of its Indigenous Forum,

co-chairs: Bronwyn Fredericks (Uni Queensland) and Barry Judd (Uni Melbourne)

The CAVAL consortium of Victorian libraries announces appointments. Margie Jantti (Uni Wollongong) and Richard Harris (Monash Health) join the board. Shaun Brady (from library software provider SirsiDynix) is its first product manager.

Chief Scientist (until year-end) Cathy Foley chairs a panel to advise the Feds on atmospheric measurements of  fossil methane emissions.

Nina Fotinatos becomes Deputy PVC Learning and Teaching at Federation U. She was previously dean of learning and teaching at the university and advisor to the VC.

Nora Leopardi (Uni Newcastle) wins the International Association For Health Professions Education teaching innovation award.

The Royal Society (as in the original) announces its annual awards and medals. Winners include, Jane Visvader and Geoff Lindeman (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute).

Jenny Selway, (Heavy Industry Low-Carbon Transition Cooperative Research Centre) is a member of Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic’s Green Metals Advisory Panel.

Janet Yeo becomes policy director at the Australian Technology Network she joins from Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research.
