Ryan Cropp wins the Prime Minister’s Australian History Award for his life of Donald Horne (La Trobe U Press).

Charles Darwin U is in the market for a new chancellor. Incumbent Paul Henderson will step down in March.

Rishi Kotecha (Kids Research Institute and Perth Children’s Hospital) is WA cancer researcher of the year.

Michael Newman becomes deputy CEO of the Lowitja Institute. He moves from COO of the Orange Aboriginal Medical Service.

Caroline Smith becomes ED for education and training at industry lobby Ai Group, she moves up from general manager.

Uni Melbourne announces new board appointments at its Australia-India Institute. Patrick Suckling, a former high commissioner to India, becomes chair. There are five new board members, including Group of Eight chief executive, Vicki Thomson
