Higher Education Policy Guru Professor Andrew Norton has pointed to data fresh from the Government showing that Federal Policy and rhetoric is finally crushing demand for student visas.
While the statistics will surprise no-one associated with international education, the data shows that visa applications slumped to just over 15,000 in February 2025, around half the number in Feb 2023, following a significant decline also recorded in January.
Visa grant numbers also tell a challenging tale for the sector – slowing considerably this year. Both charts are courtesy of Professor Norton, now in residence at Monash Business School.
