HE FEST: AI Leaders, Image experts and Marketing Chiefs sign on to program

The year’s HE FEST draft program has been released, with a mix of external experts and sector leaders to create fresh conversations and insights in relation to HE strategy, policy, marketing, recruitment and advancement.

Hosted at Deakin University’s fabulous Downtown campus in Melbourne’s CBD, the conference will run on 17-18 September, with workshops on 19 September. Future Campus Awards will be announced at the conference dinner on 17 September.

In addition to the array of speakers already announced, the latest speakers to sign up include:

  1. ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Genevieve Bell will join the conference, drawing on her experience in the tech and academic sectors to review where universities are at right now, and the opportunities and challenges that institutions must begin to navigate as they progress through one of the greatest changes to the workplace since the industrial revolution.
  2. ACU Provost Professor Julie Cogin will dive into the impact of AI in transforming the role of the academic in future.
  3. Former News Corp photography head of Visual storytelling Neil Bennett, who is shortlisted for this year’s National Photographic Portrait Prize will present a session on redefining corporate reputations through innovative imagery, as well as an in-depth workshop on visual storytelling: Image Isn't Everything – But It Can Be
  4. Former Google and Microsoft executive Ray Fleming, who has founded a new AI implementation organisations called Stratentia will collaborate with former Western Sydney University Chief Student Experience Officer and now strategic advisor and consultant Michael Burgess to present cutting edge practical insights into AI implementation and best practice usage of technology in a conference session, as well as an in-depth workshop on AI, Strategy and the New Student Journey
