The Albanese Government's lead on international education is a welcome addition to the HE FEST 25 program, providing an opportunity for fresh insights direct from Government.
The newest member of the Federal Government's Ministerial team in the Education portfolio, Julian Hill has now been sworn in as Assistant Minister for International Education and will present insights to the September conference, hosted by Deakin in Melbourne's CBD.
Minister Hill is a strong advocate for diversity, leveraging language and cultural ties with Asia and education, and faces a battery of challenges walking the tightrope between muscular language to dampen migration rates while also becoming the new focus for the sector's vast catalogue of critique in relation to international education policy.
Other speakers joining the program include:
- Michelle Weir the former CMO and now Executive Director of Global Marketing & Recruitment at UTAS will present a fascinating case study on the success of the university's school's recommendation program, which has largely replaced early offers
- Professor Chi Baik from the Centre for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Melbourne, will present information on student dissatisfaction with their degrees and HE student wellbeing.
