Australian Catholic University has appointed four staff to new roles named after the nation’s first saint. Sandy Middleton, Herbert W. Marsh, Richard M. Ryan and John Hawley have been named as the inaugural MacKillop Distinguished Professors.

Agriculture Minister Julie Collins announces the National Food Council, which includes, Christopher Downs (Uni Queensland), Andrew Henderson (Australian Strategic Policy Institute), Elizabeth Jackson (Curtin U), Leisa McCarthy (Menzies School of Health Research)

Leanne Redman starts in February as academic director of Uni Sydney’s Charles Perkins Centre. The Australian ex pat is now at Louisiana State U.

David Turvey joins the (still Interim) ATEC as ED. Directly relevant experience includes the former National Skills Commission and the present Jobs and Skills Australia. He replaces Danielle Donegan, who moves to DoE as FAS, Student Outcomes.
