
The government has finally got around to announcing the advisory committee to help the Australian Research Council’s board. The committee is included in the 2023 legislation enacting Margaret Sheil’s review. It will advise the council’s board on “priorities, strategies and policies.” The committee catchment is “universities, industry, civil society, and public administration.”

Glyn Davis (ex Uni Melbourne VC and newly former secretary of PM&C) joins the board of the Policy Institute, a new philanthropically funded, “home for high-impact and practical plans to help Australia fulfil its economic and social potential.”
Tracy Humphrey becomes Executive Dean of Flinders University’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She moves from University of South Australia.
Anna Kent is awarded Deakin U’s inaugural Margaret Kent residency. She will work on the history of international students in Australian communities.
Lavina Lee joins the US Studies Centre (Uni Sydney) as director, Foreign Policy and Defence. She leaves Macquarie U.
Dugald Murray is moving from the Victorian TAFE Association to become CEO of Skills Insight, the Jobs and Skills Council for agribusiness, fibre, furnishing, food, animal and environment care.
