Electric Dreams: Emergency Power for Ukrainian Students

BSPU campus in Winter

A campaign 100% focused on supporting students entering their fourth year of war.

This campaign will provide powerbanks to students of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University in Ukraine, so they can charge their laptops and phones. Some funds may also be used for emergency relief for students displaced by war.

In February 2022, Russia invaded Berdyansk in south western Ukraine. Thousands of students and hundreds of staff were forced to flee their homes, or submit to Russian rule.

The Berdyansk State Pedagogical University set up its operations in the nearby city of Zhaporizhia and has since redeveloped its student base and increased its research output, despite having no campus and few resources.

Staff and students are scattered across Ukraine and struggle to study with frequent power cuts and air raids affecting much of the country.

This campaign has been initiated by Future Campus after conducting interviews with Berdyansk State Pedagogical University Professors Yana Sychikova and Igor Lyman for a feature on the extraordinary achievements of displaced Ukrainian universities during wartime.

All funds raised will be donated to the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University’s fund for the purpose of purchasing powerbanks and emergency relief.

The fundraising campaign will end on 1 March 2026.
